Carlow University

Pittsburgh, PA

Carlow University in Pgh, PA had an abundance of old cooking equipment that was outdated and overkill for the student population. On top of that, it was consuming way too much energy for the quantity of food produced. The existing HVAC system was over 30’ long and on both sides of the island wall which made it difficult to operate. The structural wall also needed new utilities and new finishes.

Consultation with the University and their foodservice operator resulted in a 50% reduction in cooking space while refining total capacity, expanding menu variety and greatly improving the quality of food output.

The HVAC system incorporates hi efficiency filtration and tempered makeup air which reduced the volume of air handling in the space, thus reducing total energy consumption.

Happy students and a Happy University!
