West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA
West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA had a 20 year old Jackson flight dishmachine that required constant service and was costing them significant dollars to operate. So the hospital came to us for recommendations. We suggested a state-of-the-art Champion machine that would save them on repair bills and more importantly, save them on daily operating costs with reductions in energy, water, electric and chemical usage. THAT’S what counts the most !
To minimize disruption to the hospital’s kitchen operations, we performed the majority of this work OFF-HOURS when most sane folks are still asleep. Here you can see the original machine being torn out.
The new machine was delivered in 3 sections and field assembled to create a 23 foot long washing dynamo with 4 tanks including an extra final rinse to assure sanitized ware, a heated blower/dryer to assist with plastics drying, and an ION scale system to cut the need to delime by at least 50% – saving tons of labor and money over the years. We assumed responsibility for all plumbing, electric and related mechanical work. Hospital management also accomplished floor rehabilitation and new ceilings during the downtime between tearout and new install.
A successful installation and a happy customer….and a ton of clean dishes ! !
